On May 4, 2023, was held a joint scientific and practical conference of the Center for strategic research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Party of Economic Reforms of Tajikistan on the topic «The main directions of implementation of the National Development Strategy of Tajikistan for the period until 2030». The conference was attended by representatives of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, relevant government ministries and institutions, scientists of scientific and educational institutes, specialists and industry experts, entrepreneurs and journalists.
The scientific and practical conference was opened with an introductory speech of the director of the Center for strategic research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, doctor of philosophy, professor, associate member of National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Khayriddin Usmonzoda, who welcomed the participants and noted that sustainable economic and social development, increasing the level of people’s well-being, successful implementation of the social policy of the state, strengthening of law and order, achieving the strategic goals of the republic in the field of energy independence, food security, getting the country out of communication deadlock, providing effective employment of the population and industrialization of the country depend on the effective solution of the problems. Ensuring economic development as a condition and guarantee of sustainable economic development is implemented within the framework of the implementation of the «National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period until 2030».
The system and sustainable development of the country’s economy is related to the improvement of the state management system and the environment for investment and business support, all these activities, in general, serve to increase the level and quality of life and the social goal of the population and are the highest goal of the state of Tajikistan.
The government of the Republic of Tajikistan has set itself the goals for the implementation of NDS-2030 increasing the gross domestic product per capita by three times, reducing the poverty level by more than two times, and increasing the share of the population with an average income from 22 to 50 percent. As a result of the improvement of the investment space, the share of private capital in the gross domestic product should increase five times, and the contribution of the industrial sector to the gross domestic product should increase significantly, which will be the opportunity for Tajikistan to become an industrial and agrarian country.
In general, according to the «National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period until 2030», the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has following main goals: energy independence, food security, exit of the country from the communication deadlock, ensuring effective employment of the population, and industrialization of the country.
The main indicators of the implementation of the «Medium-term development program of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2016-2020» showed that we have achieved the national strategic goals and tasks as a whole, and a favorable foundation has been created for the further sustainable development of the country. At the same time, along with the achievements, there are some specific indicators of the previous program, taking into account the consequences of the global economic crisis, the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the presence of geopolitical problems, trade conflicts and economic sanctions between countries, unstable price fluctuations in world markets, a decrease in economic activity and climate change were not performed at the required level. From this point of view, specific economic and management reforms were launched in the country, coordination of activities of industries and rational use of internal resources were ensured due to existing opportunities and capacities.
At today’s joint scientific-practical conference, issues of ensuring stable economic development, coordination of macroeconomic policy, prevention of negative effects of external factors, diversification of domestic production and the national economy as a whole, increasing its competitiveness and effective use of internal sources of economic development in the context of implementation «Medium-term development program of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025» will be discussed and evaluated.
Then the Chairman of the faction of the Party of Economic Reforms of Tajikistan in the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Rustam Rahmatzoda, after the opening speech, gave a report on «Indicators of implementation of the National Development Strategy of Tajikistan for the period until 2030».
Then the deputy director of the Center for strategic research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Candidate of Economic Sciences Saodat Jurakhonzoda spoke on the topic «The role of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in achieving the strategic goals of the country’s development for the period until 2030», deputy Chairman of the Party of Economic Reforms of Tajikistan, rector Russian-Tajik (Slavic) University, doctor of Economic Sciences, professor Faizullo Mashrab on the topic «Digitalization of the national economy as the main factor in the implementation of the National Development Strategy of Tajikistan for the period until 2030», Chief Scientific Officer of the Institute of Economics and Demography of National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, doctor of Economic Sciences Bahrom Sharipov on the topic «Review of the National Development Strategy of Tajikistan for the period until 2030 in the framework of the formation of a stable financial sector».
Then, after the presentations, there was an exchange of views and valuable opinions.
The director of Center for strategic research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Khayriddin Usmonzoda concluded and summarized the scientific and practical conference and thanked the participants of the meeting for their active participation.
